![]() Just got the car back after 5 days in the shop. When I stopped at a rest stop in Ohio, I turned the car off and the remainder of the trip - about 2 hrs was fine. Anyway that was a problem for about an hour. Difficult on the PA turnpike where one wants to keep it at 65 to 70. Driving on 2-22 to Ohio from the Pgh PA area.in bright sunlight - not a cloud in the sky.the lights dimmed so one couldn't see the entertainment screen or the digital speed reading. I will get the same results - no error codes.- it is working like it should. I have had the problem on my 2012 equinox.been to the dealer three times in the past - and 4th time today. ![]() Good luck trying to get your dealer to believe you that something is not right. Because the dealer doesn't get a warning light or a code thrown at them then all they will tell you is it is performing as it should be. But try telling your dealer that and all you will get is, "your car is performing as it should, nothing wrong." And I quote. There has to be some sort of shorting out going on somewhere in the system or the sensor is not functioning properly. But the same thing has happened to my radio screen and DIC screen where the sensor kicked on my headlights but the screens dimmed so bad that you can not read anything on them. No, not the normal dimming that occurs when the sensor kicks in because it's overcast or you are driving through a dark area that has many trees or something. Please note that the tool that you receive after placing an online order may be in a used but operable condition due to the nature of the Loan-A-Tool® program.Well, at least I don't feel like I'm crazy now since I've been trying to explain to folks on here on another thread that it is happening with my 2011 equinox. Do not wear ties or loose clothing when working on your vehicle.įREE Loan-A-Tool® program requires returnable deposit. Should electrolyte get on your body or clothing, neutralize it immediately with a solution of baking soda and water. Always wear gloves and safety glasses and other personal protection equipment, and work in a well-ventilated area. Sulfuric acid is caustic and can burn clothing and skin or cause blindness. Use caution when working with automotive batteries. Always disconnect the negative battery cable before servicing an electrical application on the vehicle to protect its electrical circuits in the event that a wire is accidentally pierced or grounded. ![]() Always chock your wheels prior to lifting a vehicle. Refer to the service manual for specific diagnostic, repair and tool information for your particular vehicle. Information is accurate and true to the best of AutoZone’s knowledge, however, there may be omissions, errors or mistakes.īe sure to consult your owner’s manual, a repair guide, an AutoZoner at a store near you, or a licensed, professional mechanic for vehicle-specific repair information. Example of this install at 6:21 in the video.Īdvice, how-to guides, and car care information featured on and AutoZone Advice & How-To’s are presented as helpful resources for general maintenance and automotive repairs from a general perspective only and should be used at your own risk. If that’s the case, just remove what you need to, change the bulb, and put back what you removed. Occasionally you will have to remove something, in the video it’s an air filter housing but in other vehicles it may be a coolant reservoir or a battery, to get to one or more of the bulbs. Some casings don’t remove easily, but, with the hood up, you can reach behind the casing and access the bulb. You may need some tools to pull the wheel arch back to get to the bulb, remove and replace it, and then reinstall the wheel well cover. Other bulbs can only be accessed by going through the wheel well. Example of this at 2:06 in the video on the top of the page. Some headlights are stored in removable, easy-to-access assemblies that usually come out after removing a few screws.Take those out, and you can lay the headlight assembly onto the fascia to reach the bulbs. This is where you’ll run into the most variance.
